Hershey Felder and India Trip Itinerary

Blog #1:  Hershey Felder and India Trip Itinerary

Let me start my blog by urging everyone in Los Angeles to go to the theater to see Hershey Felder in MAESTRO, The Art of Leonard Bernstein at the GeffenPlayhouseIf you’ve never seen Hershey then you’ve missed the best theater ever!  Hershey “becomes” a famous composer and tells the story of his life while singing and playing his music and explaining the creative backstory of his music.  His first 3 plays were about Ira Gershwin, Chopin and Beethoven.  I saw MAESTRO last night (flight time minus 7 days!)  Breath-taking, thrilling, educational, inspirational, uplifting, emotional, OMG the music – just a few of my first thoughts!  Several standing ovations later, we left the theater madly in love again with Hershey.

The India Trip Itinerary:

Here is my itinerary, so you will know where I am!  I plan to write my blog at least after each city change.  I am flying from LA to New Delhi, India on Thursday (Nov 11th).  On Monday the 15th I’ll take the train to Jaipur, the garden city.  On Wed, Nov 17 I travel to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and on Friday night I return to Delhi.  On Sunday, Nov 21st I fly to Hyderabad in the south of India to visit Dr Rao, the director of the MicroCredit Summit in Asia and to personally visit a microcredit project.  On Tuesday the 23rd I fly to Mumbai.  For the next 7 days I’ll be involved with events remembering the terrorist attacks of 26.11.2008.  I is traveling with my close friend and roommate on my last trip to Mumbai, Lisa Schwaber.  About half of our group, including my spiritual teacher, Master Charles, as well as Kia Scherr, the widow of Alan Scherr and mother of Naomi Scherr who were killed in the attack on our hotel, are going too.  We’ll also celebrate my birthday and Thanksgiving!  Plus I’ll go to Ayushakti, the Ayurvedic Clinic with the best treatments in the world!  And I’ll be re-united with Shamim Memon, my driver that we all helped set up in business by purchasing his own car.  Shamim will be driving us all over Mumbai.  And I fly home on December 1st.

Feel free to email me with your thoughts along the way.
